Do you ever wonder why we experience emotions like anger,
frustration, fear, and anxiety?
Do you ever ask yourself, where all these mood swings and
unpleasant feelings come from?
In order to answer these questions, we first need to ask ourselves,
how are we looking at our life?
What kind of glasses are we wearing?
Do you ever wonder why we experience emotions like anger,

Do you ever ask yourself, where all these mood swings
and unpleasant feelings come from?
In order to answer these questions, we first need to ask ourselves,
how are we looking at our life?
What kind of glasses are we wearing?
This question is crucial because throughout our lives we accumulate memories, feelings, and thoughts that leave a deep imprint and influence us unconsciously long after the event is over.
It is through these glasses that we observe the world
and interpret reality.
These lens filters are called worldviews.
Worldviews are generalizations, conceptions, or beliefs, that create the picture of the reality that we see. We are, for the most part, not aware of most of the worldviews that directly impact the way we live, act, and make decisions.
For example –
If you have a worldview that the world is a dangerous place
and that you can't trust people, you will automatically walk around the world guarded, afraid, suspicious, and reluctant to take action and enter into meaningful relationships.
You will feel threatened by life
because it looks like life is dangerous!
We see the events and situations in our lives
only according to the worldviews that exist within us.
Worldviews were created from memories and events we experienced
and then interpreted in a certain way.
In other words –
We interpret all events according to the knowledge and emotional state available to us at each moment. Our mind then creates a belief about life and how we should behave in situations like these.
Because of this, people who are 60 years old sometimes engage with life from a worldview that was formed at the age of six.
This prevents a person from responding to their current reality from a developed and mature place and causes enormous frustration, sadness, and difficulties in life.
Let’s take a look at another example:
A person arrives at an event, walks over to the coat rack full of coats,
and reaches into one of the pockets. Two people see him.
One person immediately thinks: “Thief!!”
The other person thinks: “He is secretly giving charity!”
How is it that both people saw the exact same thing,
but interpreted it in a completely different way?
Because reality is simply and accurately reflecting our inner selves.
It is literally a mirror image of what is happening within us.
In the above situation, each person interpreted what they saw
according to the worldview or glasses he had:
One sees the world as a dangerous, threatening place
and the other person sees the world as a kind,
generous giving place.
It is through these glasses that we observe the world
and interpret reality.

If you want to make a real and meaningful change
you have to address things from the root.
Renewal, growth, and development in life begins with understanding our internal system and how each part works.
We are like a puzzle.
When all of our pieces are in their correct place,
we have a spectacular, complete picture.
However, when the puzzle isn’t put together properly
or there is a missing piece then the image will look distorted.
Just like a tire repairman can't fix an airplane malfunction,
because he doesn’t know the different parts of an airplane and their functions, we too can't take care of our nefesh
without knowing what it is made of and how it works.
Makes sense, right? 🙂

The higher, sublime, and complete part within us that lacks nothing. It is completely good, pure, and wonderful.
It is the epitome of perfection.
The soul only has the desire to positively influence the world, reality, and our life.
The soul is also our inner compass and conscience – the inner voice that outlines the path for us and guides our way.
Every so often, the soul also gives us an internal reminder of how great we are and how much potential we have (much more than we usually think). This voice directs us where to turn in order to fulfill our great selves and realize our purpose in life.
"The coachman" – harnesses the horse and leads the cart to the desired destination!

Our wonderful nefesh contains within it the natural, physical, "animalistic" part that exists within every person.
It is the survivalist, impulsive part of us that runs on autopilot and reacts irrationally, unconsciously, and from a completely automated habitual place.
Sometimes the mind is just like the horse that grabs the reins from the coachman and forcefully pulls the cart wherever he wants – generally, to a place that is familiar to him.

This horse takes control in all kinds of situations in life:
👉🏼 When we think that people intentionally misled us.
👉🏼 When someone aggressively cuts us off while driving.
👉🏼 When someone raises his voice and degrades
us in front of others.
👉🏼 When we feel that everyone is against us and we have
no self-confidence to stand up for ourselves.

In these situations, when we feel threatened or triggered, the “animalistic”, more aggressive, and survivalist parts are activated and we react automatically, without thinking.
Unfortunately, in most cases, our automatic reaction is not the one that we want to respond with.

From the moment we are born, our precious and beloved body takes us from place to place, driving us along our life’s path.
It’s advisable to harness the cart properly and let the coachman lead our body and not let the horses take control.
With the coachman steering, we can choose how we respond, from a mature and developed place, instead of defaulting to our past habituated reactions.
This is the life-changing skill that we will learn in this course.

Everyone experiences daily mood shifts and a diverse range of emotions, including ones that feel negative. The problem starts when we stew in the negative emotions (unintentionally of course!). This energy goes straight to our hearts and literally creates "emotional poisoning" that can affect our thoughts and our feelings all day, all month, or even all year.
If we don't address these feelings, "warning lights" will turn on in our minds and body to alert us that something is off. Over time, if we ignore the warnings they will get louder and negatively impact all areas of our lives, including:

Our unprocessed emotions may lead us to continuously repeat the same ongoing arguments and conflicts. This ongoing tension creates disconnection and impacts the trust, the shared vision, and mutual desire to grow together. This vicious cycle can cause the relationship to completely fall apart
Can get stuck, complicated, or unbearable when our relationships with colleagues, clients, and the people around us suddenly deteriorate. This can lead to frustration, and confusion, and leave us at a loss as to how to navigate our professional life and move forward in life in general
May be damaged or simply end and we may find ourselves feeling lonely, abandoned, and lacking self-worth. Over time, as we feel more and more insecure and alone, we will not be able to express our true desires for connection, set healthy boundaries or ask for the kind of closeness that we crave. This spiral pushes us farther away from relationships that are important to us. This disconnect, combined with a lack of understanding of how we got to this situation, makes it almost impossible to break free from it
Can get complicated and we can sink into extreme states of fear and anxiety, feelings of profound emptiness and lack of purpose, sadness, and never-ending worries. This can happen rather suddenly and it often feels like there’s no way out. If you feel this, it’s a signal to take a deep breath and give yourself a fresh start
When we live in a constant state of fear, doubt and worry about the future we put ourselves under enormous stress, and prevent ourselves from experiencing the simple joys and satisfaction of life. When we let the emotions build up, it usually comes out unexpectedly, and in an unhealthy way, on the people closest to us. If we receive criticism and judgment from the environment around us, we may start to feel that something is wrong with us. When we turn this criticism inward, we poison our emotional system even more and become physically and mentally exhausted.

Is this how I want my life to look?
Is this the life I deserve to live?
Is that what I came here for?
When we show up from a conscious place and respond to life with confidence and a fresh perspective
When we take responsibility for our reactions and commit to a real process of internal work and self-development?
When we are connected to the infinite source of goodness that exists within us, allow ourselves to release what is holding us hostage to the past and change the way we look at the reality of our lives?
All the characters in our lives (spouses, colleagues, friends, etc…) are messengers
to show us our emotional wounds in order for us to heal ourselves.
Our work is not with the people who triggered us but with the message itself.
We are being invited to look inside and discover what needs healing.
This transformative process will directly and positively influence:

This transformative process will directly and positively influence:
We will develop better communication skills and expand our ability to be vulnerable, respect each other, be thankful and appreciative of our relationships, and learn to love and increase the connection and good feelings that already exist - which will lead to a much stronger, loving and growing relationship
We will know how to express ourselves, both in words and actions, in an authentic, safe, and happy way. Over time we will decrease blame and criticism and learn how to be proactive and creative with what is going on in our life. This will lead to a feeling of self-realization and fulfillment that is much more aligned with our purpose and direction in life
We will develop mental flexibility and a sharper and more connected emotional intelligence that will strengthen our family relationships and social connections. Through healthy and authentic communication we will feel a sense of belonging, and express love and empathy for ourselves and those around us. We will feel free to be ourselves and know that we are loved as we are: worthy from the core of our being
Will become more balanced and flowing, with less frequent outbursts and extreme moods that negatively impact our daily life. We will know how to stay connected to ourselves and express our inner world accurately and strengthen our connection with ourselves and the infinite and eternal aspect within us
People who can find the courage to take responsibility for their lives, instead of continuing to live out of guilt and victimhood,
can create a lasting and life-long!
It might feel a little daunting or difficult at first – and that's okay.
Our true power in life is not necessarily from one bold action but a personal and gradual process. Over time, and through perseverance and faith, this process leads to an emotionally balanced and mentally healthy life that is filled with joy, connection, and a sense of true self-satisfaction!
The Jewish Path to Emotional Healing connects us to the higher, whole, and shining part within us. It teaches us how to look at the reality of our life through glasses of faith, confidence, and hope and how to live a happy, fulfilling, and full life.

Eligibility requirements for the certificate:
Rabbi Rosenthal, a graduate of the Hebrew University of Individual and Community Social Work (B.A.SW), has been the senior lecturer at Elima since its inception. He is responsible for, and partners in, building and developing all of the course curriculum. He has worked with guided imagery and developing the power of thought since 1987.
Also trained as a lawyer, Rosenthal worked with the mentally ill and their families, teenagers, criminals, the elderly, and others. He studied family therapy using the strategic approach (MRI) with Dr. Simcha Halberstadt and treated attention and concentration problems with the ADHD Solutions method at the "Success" Institute. He specialized in the method of "Dimion Nesvet" (Jewish approach to guided imagery) with Amit Kedem. He currently provides both individual and couples counseling at his private clinic and is a consultant at Elima Clinic in Or Haganuz.
Elima was born out of a strong desire to help every person be healthier and to train the future generation of natural medicine practitioners and has been leading the natural health revolution in Israel for two decades.
